Things Learnt in this Project

  • Implemented event management system with automatic categorization based on dates
  • Created discussion forums with topic-based categorization for technical discussions
  • Integrated Prisma ORM with PostgreSQL for efficient data management
  • Developed authentication and authorization system for community members
  • Created an open-source contribution workflow with proper documentation
  • Optimized database queries for better performance

The Event Manager platform is built using Next.js, which helps make the website fast and responsive. When users visit the site, they can see all the information instantly because Next.js loads the pages quickly. This makes the experience smooth, especially when browsing through different events or participating in discussions.

One of the main features is how events are organized. The platform automatically sorts events into two main sections: upcoming events that users can join, and past events that serve as a record of community activities. Users can easily create new events, set dates, add descriptions, and manage registrations. The system also sends reminders to registered participants, helping everyone stay updated about upcoming events.

The discussion forum is another important part of the platform, specifically designed for software developers in the Telugu community. Here, members can start discussions about coding problems, share their knowledge about system design, or ask questions about software development. The forum is organized by topics, making it easy to find discussions about specific subjects like Data Structures & Algorithms or System Design patterns.

Being an open-source project, Event Manager welcomes contributions from developers who want to improve the platform. Whether it's adding new features, fixing bugs, or suggesting improvements, community members can actively participate in making the platform better. This collaborative approach helps create a stronger and more engaged Telugu tech community.
